They gain the historical perspective needed to assess claims about “globalization,” and develop the critical and analytical skills necessary to understand the forces that shape our world.

COMPETITIVE APPLICANTS

Applicants who are generally competitive to IAS will have the following:

Prerequisite GPA of 2.70
Cumulative college GPA of 2.70
A positive grade trend
All prerequisites complete at time of application

REASONING

Courses that satisfy this requirement focus on mathematics and statistics, or symbolic argument. Common courses that meet the requirement are: MATH 107, MATH 146, MATH 140, MATH 148 and MATH 151. If you have questions about your RSN, please consult an advisor. Note that MATH 141 and MATH 142 do not meet RSN.
