The Bachelor of Science in Biology offers a challenging, integrative course of study emphasizing undergraduate research, the development of strong communication skills, and an awareness of the impact of biology on society.

With an emphasis on hands-on experience and strong faculty-student mentorship, students are prepared for graduate study or careers in biological research, education, biotechnology, and health care.

UNIVERSITY MINIMUM ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Transfer applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for admissions:

Minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 2.0.
Supporting documents (transcripts, test scores, personal statement, etc. – varies by major program).
Completion of CADR or core subject requirements if applicant has fewer than 40 transferrable credits (see below) at the time of application.
Proof of English language proficiency (if required).

MAJOR ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

This is a minimum-requirements major, meaning that students who meet the general admission requirements and minimum GPA in each prerequisite course are eligible for review for entry into the program.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2.00 GPA in each introductory biology course, an average of a 2.0 in the introductory chemistry sequence
Students can apply with on course in progress, but the course must be completed prior to their first quarter at UWB

COMPETITIVE APPLICANTS

Applicants who are generally competitive to Chemistry will have the following:

3.00 grade in each prerequisite
Cumulative college GPA of 3.00 or higher
A positive grade trend with few to no repeats
