Preview Day kicks off at the ARC! Here's the schedule for the Opening Session:

• 8:45–9:15 AM - Check-In

• 9:15–9:20 AM - Welcome Address

  After the Welcome Address, we'll share more about the schedule so that you can get the most out of your time at the University of Washington Bothell!

• 9:20–9:35 AM - Academic Advising Talk

  University of Washington offers centralized advising to help students from registering for their first courses through to graduation.

• 9:35–10:00 AM - Admissions Information Sessions

Meta Majors, A Deeper Dive

10:15–11:00 AM

After the Opening Ceremony, check out our Meta Major presentations in either the North Creek Event Center, Discover Hall (DISC), and UW1 or UW2.

• Exploring Major Pathways

  Location: UW1-120

  Still deciding what you want to study? An Academic Advisor will explain how UW Bothell helps students explore their interests, compare academic options and choose a major that supports their goals. Learn how Meta-Major Pathways organize related programs into broad areas of interest, giving you a clear starting point while keeping your options open. You’ll also hear how Academic Advisors support course planning, academic progress and major/minor exploration as your interests develop.

• Business & Policy

  Location: DISC-061

  Explore majors focused on leadership, decision-making and how organizations and societies operate. Business & Policy programs examine organizational and societal structures and prepare students to improve processes, develop initiatives and respond to complex challenges. Coursework builds skills in project management, data analysis, critical thinking and communication. This session will introduce majors within the pathway and help you connect your interests with possible areas of study.

• Arts & Media + Education & Society

  Location: UW1-110

  Explore majors rooted in creativity, communication, education and society. Arts & Media programs examine visual, literary and media practices while strengthening skills in ideation, as well as oral, written and visual communication. Education & Society programs explore learning, human development, culture and social systems to better understand the experiences and issues shaping individuals and communities. This session will introduce majors within both pathways and help you connect your interests with possible areas of study.

  Majors represented in the Education & Society area of study identify, assess, and analyze human experiences and cultural values to understand societal behaviors, structures, issues, and practices.

• Health & Natural Sciences

  Location: UW2-005

  Explore majors focused on understanding the natural world, improving health and using science to solve real-world problems. Health & Natural Sciences programs draw from the physical, chemical, biological and social sciences to advance knowledge and improve lives. Through laboratory research, fieldwork, data analysis and other applied learning, students build skills in evaluating evidence, identifying patterns and predicting outcomes. This session will introduce majors within the pathway and help you connect your interests with possible areas of study.

• Technology & Engineering

  Location: North Creek

  Explore majors focused on developing technology, designing systems and solving complex problems. Technology programs use computing, data and digital tools to analyze information and create practical solutions. Engineering programs apply mathematics and science to design, build, test and improve devices, processes and systems. Across both areas, students consider the social, political, cultural and ethical impact of their work while developing skills in logical reasoning, quantitative problem-solving, data analysis and visualization. This session will introduce majors within the pathway and help you connect your interests with possible areas of study.

• From Running Start to UWB

  Location: North Creek

  Running Start students enter UW Bothell as first-year students, but their college coursework may shape their academic plan and timeline for entering a major. Learn how Running Start credits are evaluated, how they may apply toward degree and prerequisite requirements, and how different majors admit students. Advisors will also explain when students may be ready to declare or apply to a major, including before their first autumn quarter, and how to plan future coursework around the credits they have already completed.

• Experiential Learning - Study Abroad, Global Initiatives, and Research

  Location: UW1-120

  Take your learning beyond the classroom through UW Bothell’s Office of Connected Learning. Explore opportunities to earn credit through study abroad, develop global perspectives through courses and collaboration with international partners, and participate in undergraduate research or creative projects for academic credit, pay or as a volunteer. Learn about advising, scholarships and other resources that help students find experiences connected to their interests and goals.

• Career Services - Internships & Pre-Health Advising

  Location: DISC-061

  UW Bothell Career Services supports students as they explore career interests, build professional skills and connect with employers. Learn about career coaching, résumé and cover letter support, interview preparation, networking, career fairs and job and internship searches. You’ll also hear about Handshake, UW’s online platform for finding career opportunities and events, along with specialized support such as Pre-Health Advising and preparation for graduate or professional programs.

• Financial Aid

  Location: UW2-005

  Paying for college is an important consideration for students and families. Learn how financial aid works, how to apply and what resources are available to help you plan for the cost of your education.

Lunch and Student Panel - ARC

12:15 - 1:15 PM

During lunch, hear directly from current students about what they love most about UW Bothell, what they wish they had known before starting and how to make the most of your experience as a Husky! You’ll also have time to ask current students your questions about academics, campus life and the UW Bothell experience.

1:15 PM at the ARC

Explore UW Bothell and learn more about student housing. Join us after lunch for a guided tour departing from the Activities & Recreation Center (ARC) at 1:15 p.m., followed by an optional visit to the Husky Residential Village at 2:00 p.m.
